Sometime during February, we had a small fire burning on the electrical lines outside our home. Needless to say, our power went out.
I suspect that this damaged my router and since then have had brief periods during which the router simply stopped working. Late Sunday of this week, it stopped working altogether. Not being the sort of person who immediately goes out and buys a new router when the old one stops working, I tried to fix it on Monday and finally gave up on Tuesday.
On Wednesday, I bought a new router (wireless) and managed to configure it late Wednesday night. Since then I’ve been too busy to blog, but things do work.
It’ll be interesting to see if people in my neighborhood discover we’ve got a wireless router. If I look out the window to find that somebody’s sitting in a car, working on their laptop, I may have to make things more secure.
On the other hand, I may regard my broadband connection as a public service…
