I (Jim Zoetewey) work as a computer consultant and web developer in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
I grew up in Holland, Michigan (except for short stint in Washington D.C.) and managed to attend most of the schools there. Well, maybe not, but it sure feels like it. Not only did I go through the Holland Christian school system K-12, but went to Hope College (majoring in religion and sociology) and Western Theological Seminary.
After that I branched out into schools not controlled either by the Christian Reformed Church or Reformed Church of America and attended Western Michigan University (Masters in Sociology) and Grand Valley State University (all but 3 credits of a masters in Information Systems).
So I guess this makes me educated. Kind of.
I did the last two masters degrees while working. I’ve worked at a market research firm, as the IT guy for a non-profit and (most recently) self-employed. That’s been an education in itself.
I’m married, have two kids and four cats.
I hope someday to be a published science fiction and fantasy author.
I’d love to start playing music again (bass guitar and trumpet), but haven’t had time lately.
This blog is an opportunity for me to comment on my life.
